Ultimate Time Management Program Part 3 - Course Summary
Peter Johnson
To fulfil this aim, I have created the “Ultimate Time Management Coaching Program”. It is the most comprehensive time management program available anywhere today and is available world wide for anyone.
Why I focus on Time Management
As I grew up, I always had good time management skills. In my early days working as an office equipment technician, I was always able to plan and execute my days successfully. Even when I was supervising up to 17 members in my team, I was able to keep control of my days.
However, when I took on the role of Papua New Guinea Service Manager for Remington, I found my days went out of control. I was now managing over 100 team members, plus the interaction with other head office staff and found my door was a constantly revolving door and could not get things done.
I did a time management course, but found it was only teaching me the skills I already had. I realised there were obviously many more skills I needed to develop to get my days back under control.
From that day onwards, Whilst taking on new roles at Remington and then other companies in various states and cities in Australia and managing teams from 10 to over 200 members, I continued the development of my time management and business skills, developing various systems and methodologies for keeping my day under control and get things done, passing this knowledge onto the people around me.
In August 2006 I started operating as a business coach, providing knowledge, skills and support to a wide range of business owners and their teams. During the early days of coaching, I noticed that just about every business owner I worked with had the same problem, they could not get their day under control and do the important things to grow their business. They were being constantly distracted and interrupted in their day and putting key activities off to another day. Most of the time, "another day" did not arrive.
This prompted me to look back over the years and identify what skills I had developed that were critical to improving your time management skills to get your day under control, so you could focus on actually doing the important things that needed to be done, to successfully run your centre. What I found was, that there are four key areas that you need to gain knowledge and develop skills in, if you intended to get back control in your day.
I called these four areas, the 4 Inescapable Components of Getting Your Day Under Control.
These four areas are;
1. Planning
2. Time Management
3. Self-Discipline
4. People Management/Leadership Skills
Without specific knowledge and skills in each of these areas, it is almost impossible for a business owner to get control of their day and be able to get those important things done and still have enough time left over, to enjoy their family, friends and leisure activities.
I have found that all of the time management training I have done over the years, and through regularly reviewing time management courses currently on offer, only provide training in the first two components, planning and time management and a little bit on procrastination.
This means that when you arrive at work following the training, you have your weekly and daily plan, but cannot get anything done on your to do list, because you are still constantly putting things off and being interrupted and distracted in your day. There was no training on developing specific skills in self discipline and people management/ leadership areas.
Planning and time management (weekly and daily planning) are the easy bits. The hard bits are trying actually do the tasks on your to do list, whilst constantly being interrupted and distracted.
As a business and personal productivity coach, my passion is to help business owners and their teams, to develop the skills in the “4 Inescapable Components of Getting Your Day Under Control”. Through my coaching program, I have been able to help business owners, go from working long hours 7 days a week and at times in poor health, to being fit and healthy and working 3, 4 or 5 days a week, in normal working hours.
I have written the book “The Time Retriever” which along with a step by step planning process, also provides readers awareness of many of the key skills required to get your day under control.
As a speaker, I am a very highly engaging motivational speaker, providing my audiences with some key strategies that they can implement immediately and start to see changes in their life.

Delegates who have attended Peter’s sessions have overwhelmingly given positive feedback and have gone on to engage Peter in a private capacity. I have found Peter a delight to work with and a valuable addition to our conference programs. I have no hesitation in recommending Peter.” Philippa Valder, Australian Childcare Alliance Victoria.
“I have been working with Peter for over 5 years, he has helped me immensely at a time that my business has grown and my role in the organization has significantly evolved. Peter’s guidance and support has allowed for my evolution from a hands-on centre director, to be able to encourage the growth and development of my management team to take on those responsibilities.
This has significantly reduced the amount of time I need to be working in the business and allowed more time for me to pursue other areas of interest and to spend time with my young family. Peter continues to help me drive improvement and efficiencies with my management team which has a positive impact on them and the operation of the services. I can’t thank Peter enough for his impact on both me personally and my business” Paul Mondo : Bimbi Day Care
